Rural Services Program

 

The Virginia Employment Commission’s Rural Services Unit, located at the agency’s central office in Richmond, has the responsibility for processing agricultural, seasonal (H-2A) job orders through the National Agricultural Recruitment System and to register farm labor contractors (crew leaders) and their employees, as required by the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act.

The Rural Services Unit also conducts farm labor seminars for agricultural employers on a statewide basis.
